    Hockey earns their first win of the season, defeating Gloucester Catholic 7-5 at Codey Arena.
  • SHP Enters Apparel Agreement with NIKE & BSN SPORTS

    West Orange, NJ (October 23, 2024) – The Seton Hall Prep Athletics Department today announced an apparel agreement with NIKE and BSN SPORTS, a division of Varsity Brands and the premier platform for team sports solutions. Through this partnership, which took effect on September 1, 2024, BSN SPORTS serves as the official apparel and equipment provider for the Pirates Athletic Program and will outfit the school’s athletes, coaches, and community members in premier NIKE product selections.

    The Pirates scored two goals in the final 3:27 of play to keep their season alive, defeating Dwight Englewood 2-1 in the NJSIAA Quarters at the KAC.

    Seton Hall Prep senior, Jack Driscoll, was named Super Essex Conference Field Player of the Week for Oct. 14-19 by NJ.com.
  • Soccer advances to ECT Semis

    The Pirates advance! Jack Driscoll's second half goal off the assist from Daniel Ariza sends SHP to the Essex County Semifinals, beating West Orange HS 1-0.

    Soccer defeated Millburn 1-0 in the opening round of the Essex County Tournament yesterday at The KAC! 
  • Cross Country Places 4th in SEC Championship

    In the Conference Championship held at Branch Brook Park, the SHP Varsity Cross Country team placed 4th behind the scoring of Andrew Burkitt, Charlie Grube, Tommy Basinger, Logan Barnett and Michael Duff. 
  • Crew Performs Well in Head of the Passaic

    SHP Crew had multiple top 5 finishes with 3 medalling boats at the Head of the Passaic this past weekend! 
  • Soccer Earns 4-0 Shutout over MKA

    The Pirates defeated MKA 4-0 at The KAC on Monday, scoring two goals in each half. 
  • Cross Country Captures SEC Regular Season Title

    The Seton Hall Prep Cross Country team beat both MKA (15-50) and Newark Academy (17-44) in the last week of regular season competition, finishing with a 10-0 record and capturing the SEC American Division regular season title. 
  • Soccer Earns 2OT Win at Montclair

    Soccer earned a 1-0 victory over Montclair in double OT on Friday, Oct. 4, behind the clutch goal from Sophomore Jack Bigley '27.

    Cross Country improves to 8-0 following today's wins over Millburn (25-30) and Livingston (27-30)!

    Cross Country defeated Montclair and Verona in their opening conference race of the season!

    Soccer is now 5-1 on the season following yesterday's win against Livingston. The Pirates are back in action this Saturday (10am, at West Essex)

    Football holds Chaminade (NY) to three points, winning 10-3 to improve to 2-1 on the season ahead of Friday night's game at DePaul Catholic.

    The Pirates have started the season 3-0, coming back from behind in their last two wins against Columbia and Garfield.

    Seton Hall Prep is set to conduct a search to fill the vacancy of Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach following the resignation of former coach, Ross Turco.
     
  • Ross Turco Resigns as Lacrosse Coach at Seton Hall Prep

    Seton Hall Prep announces the resignation of Head Lacrosse Coach Ross Turco, who has decided to step down due to the increasing growth of his family business. Coach Turco assumed the role of head coach ahead of the 2020 season, and his impressive tenure included a 66-16 overall record, four Essex County Tournament titles, four SEC American Division titles, two Fitch-Pitt Conference titles, and Non-Public A finals appearances in 2023 and 2024. While leading the Pirates, he helped produce over 54 NCAA college lacrosse players, including 36 at the Division I level.

    Tennis defeated Glen Ridge today 5-0 at Finney Family Courts, picking up their first win of the season.

    Seton Hall Prep Swimming Head Coach, Joe Alexander, has announced his retirement from the position following the 2023-2024 season. We are proud that Chris Boyle '13, assistant coach and SHP science teacher will take over for his mentor.

    Seton Hall Prep Announces Sterling Gibbs ’11 as Head Basketball Coach

    It is with great pride and excitement that we announce Sterling Gibbs as the next Head Basketball Coach at Seton Hall Prep. Sterling, Class of 2011, returns to his alma mater after a decade of playing professional basketball around the globe. The Scotch Plains native began his collegiate career at the University of Texas before transferring and earning his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University, and his Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut.
  • Seton Hall Prep Announces Leadership Change in Basketball Program

    Seton Hall Prep’s administration has determined that a change in leadership for our Basketball program is appropriate at this time. We are thankful for Coach Kevin Williams’ many years of service both as head coach and as an assistant. Kevin Williams will continue in his roles as Varsity Golf Coach, Freshman Soccer Coach, and History Teacher at Seton Hall Prep. We are proud to announce that Sterling Gibbs, Class of 2011, will take over as Head Coach. More on Sterling’s hiring will be announced in the coming days.

    Congratulations to our 8 student-athletes who have earned a trip to Atlanta City to compete in the NJSIAA State Tournament following a record-setting performance at Region 1 this weekend.
     
  • Despite Fastest Effort, Pirates Fall Short in NJSIAA North Final

    Despite swimming their fastest meet of the year, the SHP swim team went down to defeat in the NJSIAA Non-Public North Final, losing 90-80 to Bergen Catholic.  The meet was held on Presidents Day at Neptune Aquatic Center.

    In their best performance of the season, the SHP swim team scored a decisive 103-67 victory over St. Peter’s Prep in the NJSIAA Non-Public North Semifinal held February 12 at the Yanitelli Center in Jersey City.

    The SHP Swim Team defeated Oratory Prep 124-46 on Thursday February 8 at NJIT in the 2nd round of the NJSIAA Non-Public North Tournament.

    SHP Bowling won the Battle at Bristol tournament in Croydon, PA on Saturday! Desi Cavanaugh ‘24 took the 2nd highest series with a 643.

    Indoor Track & Field placed 2nd in the Essex County Championship meet yesterday at Ocean Breeze!
  • Swimming defeats Summit

    SHP Swimming defeated Summit at the Summit YMCA by a score of 103.5-66.5
  • Hockey beats Peter's, Goal earns Sportscenters' #2 Top Play

    The Pirates defeated St. Peter's Prep 5-0, as Junior Matthew Smith scored a "Michigan" goal which was highlighted on ESPN's Sportscenter

    The SHP Swimming Team won the Super Essex Conference and Essex County Championships on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Jersey Aquatic Center in New Providence.  
  • Coach Bob Farrell Honored With Wootten Lifetime Achievement Award

    The legendary former Seton Hall Prep basketball coach, Bob Farrell, is being presented the prestigious Morgan Wootten Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor bestowed on a select group of scholastic hoops coaches around the nation, at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., this weekend in conjunction with the Spalding Hoopball Classic.

    The Pirates beat the Lancers 61-12 on Wednesday night
  • Marty Berman Named National Coach of the Year

    Seton Hall Prep Soccer Head Coach Marty Berman H'05 has been named the United States Soccer Coaches Association's private/parochial boys National Coach of the Year for 2023. Marty's Pirates captured finished No. 1 in NJ upon capturing their third NJSIAA Non-Public A State Title in the past four attempts.
