About

Seton Hall Prep’s Lacrosse program is recognized as one of the most competitive in the state of New Jersey. The Prep fields three teams: Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity, making it the second largest at Seton Hall. Prep teams compete during the regular season in the Fitch-Pitt Division, Super Essex Conference, enter the Essex County Tournament and enter the NJSIAA tournament in the Non-Public A bracket. The team has had tremendous team success, winning the Group IV State Championship in 2004 and winning the Essex County Championship in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The Pirates have also won the Super Essex Conference every year since its inception in 2014. The Pirates' success is in part due to the dedication of our student-athletes, which can be seen in their continued achievements at the highest collegiate levels. Over the past six years The Prep has sent players to the most prestigious colleges: Notre Dame, Brown University, Johns Hopkins, Princeton, Cornell, Loyola, Villanova, Bucknell, Syracuse, Lehigh, University of Denver, Rutgers, Delaware, Denison, Bates, Franklin & Marshall, Boston University, and Colgate University, among others.

The strength of the Seton Hall Prep Lacrosse program lies in the people that make it up. Coaches, athletes and families are motivated, talented, energetic and determined to make a student-athlete's four year involvement a rewarding, life-changing experience.

HEAD COACH

Ross Turco

FULL BIO

Ross Turco was named Head Coach of Seton Hall Prep Lacrosse in the summer of 2019, following his appointment as an assistant coach the previous spring. Before joining the Seton Hall Prep Community, Coach Turco worked as an assistant at Ridgewood HS and Farleigh Dickinson University before returning to his alma mater, the Peddie School, as a head coach. Coach Turco is also the Director of Tri-State Lacrosse, and has close to twenty years of experience coaching and developing highly competitve lacrosse programming. Since its founding in 2002, Tri-State has emerged as a nationally recognized program, developing hundreds of college athletes and many NCAA captains and All-Americans.

A decorated player himself, Coach Turco was a 1996 graduate of the Peddie School, where he captained an undefeated team ranked #3 in the nation. He was also honored as a high school All-American, named to the Star-Ledger All-Century Team, and received a tryout bid for the 1996 U.S.A. U-19 All-World team along with 120 of the top players in the country. Coach Turco continued his career at Division III Hampden-Sydney College before transferring to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Denver. He also played Major League Lacrosse for the New Jersey Pride (a franchise then owned by his family, founding members of the league).
