Cross Country Improves to 7-0

Breakdown from Head Coach Chris Barnitt:  As has become common this season, The Prep harriers came through the first mile comfortably and with an eye on the front runners. Seniors Anthony Bottino and Danny Collum were leading the charge in an attempt to disrupt Millburn’s top two runners.  In a flurry of movement and surges in the final 500 meters, the gutsy Pirates were able to gain position on their competitors and defeated Millburn (25-31) and West Orange (15-50).  Scoring for The Prep were seniors Anthony Bottino (17:40- 3^rd), Danny Collum (17:44-4^th), Ben Ferrara (17:59-6^th), sophomore Connor Schmit (18:01-7^th) and junior TJ Sparno (18:16-10^th).  Rounding out the strong effort were seniors Bedros Maldjian (18:17-11^th) and AJ Villaruel (18:22) and junior Russ Webb (19:28).  With these two victories, the team sits at the top of the conference with a 7-0 record.
